The New

With the cold of winter Did many wither and fall Slowly drying and dying Listening to the evening call Listless lifeless for a season whole Hiding from all glory With no form or fruit to behold As the suns rays straightened And spring was announced A little newness and life A new hope did abound New leaves new beginnings No sign of the old! New colors and fruits Fresh beauty untold All must rest unto death And prepare for an emptying For the new season to beckon Patient hope is believing Death leads to life Just like a grain of wheat Loss leads to gain Just ask an oak tree Let the old and droopy drop Let the withered aged go Be emptied and wait Wait and Watch the new grow
